Experian - Update May 2025

An update from Pat Brady (APPA Chair) on the cessation of the free Experian monitoring service ...

"The news from AXA that it will not be extending the free Experian monitoring service was not unexpected. Both AXA and Capita have been monitoring the dark web for signs of compromised data and neither Capita or AXA have detected any information.

In addition, there have been no reports to any of the regional representatives from members of suspicious activities.

Therefore, your Experian membership will come to an end 12 month from the date you renewed it. You are of course at liberty to approach Experian or other companies such as Equifax if you want to continue but there will be a fee. Experian’s fee for Identity Plus which is what was provided to us is £10.99 per month.

There has been a class action taken against Capita by Barings solicitors based in Manchester. There is a court date listing of 18th June 2025 so if anything comes from that I will inform your regional representatives and update the APPA website"
